In the Modern Day Bodhisattva Seminar, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche offers practical methods to move beyond the barriers of our isolating self-concern by expanding our heart to care for the welfare of all beings. This is the heart of a bodhisattva which is built on the practice of intelligent self-reflection.  Compassion and insight are the tools of the bodhisattva which allow him or her to understand the mind and build upon that understanding.   Amazingly, we find that the more we use these tools to honestly explore our own mind, the more we feel open and connected to others. From this strong understanding of mind, one becomes genuinely kinder and more sympathetic to others.
On Sunday at the the conclusion of Talk 2, Rinpoche will offer refuge and bodhisattva vows.
